![]() About the Collection The Oregon Historical Society's Photograph Collection is one of the largest and most heavily used collections of photographs in the United States. The collection contains more than 2.5 million images that visually document the people, places, and events of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, from the 1850s to the present. This extensive and diverse collection depicts the growth of towns and cities, transportation, the people of the region, and the Pacific Northwest's commercial, industrial, and agricultural development. After you have found the photo that you like, record the negative number, OrHi number, or other unique identifier & a description of the photo. 2. If you are purchasing a photograph reproduction for reference or personal use, please consult our Reproduction Prices & Sizes page. Photographs can be purchased in various print sizes, digital & slide formats. If you wish to use the image commercially, meaning it may appear in advertising, scholarly & commercial publishing, or commercial display, please review our photo Rights and Permissions page.
