 About the Collection The Oregon Historical Society's Photograph Collection is one of the largest and most heavily used collections of photographs in the United States. The collection contains more than 2.5 million images that visually document the people, places, and events of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, from the 1850s to the present. This extensive and diverse collection depicts the growth of towns and cities, transportation, the people of the region, and the Pacific Northwest's commercial, industrial, and agricultural development. The work of many prominent regional photographers is represented in the collections. 1. Find Your Photo Visit our online collections catalog to search for photos. If you need help locating photos, please read the "Searching for Photos" section of this page.
After you have found the photo that you like, record the negative number, OrHi number, or other unique identifier & a description of the photo. 2. Determine Usage, Choose Size & Get Pricing Our Photo Rights & Permissions page can help you determine any special rights or permissions required for photo usage (by type of use). If you are purchasing a photograph reproduction for reference or personal use, please consult our Reproduction Prices & Sizes page. Photographs can be purchased in various print sizes, digital & slide formats. If you wish to use the image commercially, meaning it may appear in advertising, scholarly & commercial publishing, or commercial display, please review our photo Rights and Permissions page. Images to be used in publication or any other purpose are subject to Publication and Usage fees. 3. Place your Order All orders require
